Model Fashion Clothes

Erin Wasson will be sketching, rather than catwalking, for her latest endeavor: clothing designer. The model, who played muse and stylist for Alexander Wang's last two collections, will be designing a 2009 Spring collection for Rvca.
“I’m going to get my rocks off seeing girls in California skating around wearing my clothes more than I think I will seeing it in the fashion world,” said Wasson.
The Erin Wasson for Rvca line, which has already had interest from Opening Ceremony, will range from $55 for low cut tanks to $230 for frayed denim shorts. Look forward to a collection filled with cotton tops, denim, miniskirts, and blazers detailed with zippers and thunderbolts. Don't worry, the model doesn't plan on quitting her day job anytime soon: “Oh, no, honey. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you,” said Wasson.

Decorator Fashion Show

The author of the example is Héctor Calle E.
Models in a fashion show have to change their clothes all the time to present new items to the public. With AKVIS Decorator plug-in they can take a break - the program applies a new texture and color to the clothes in a flash.

Step 1. Open the image in a photo editor compatible with AKVIS Decorator. In this example we are going to work with Adobe Photoshop. We will apply a new texture/color to the model's clothes and accessories.

Step 2. Select the suit of the girl using any selection tool. In Adobe Photoshop we can use the Magnetic Lasso tool.

Step 3. After selecting call Decorator from the menu of the photo editor, Filter > AKVIS > Decorator.

Step 4. Select a suitable texture from the Texture Library. For this purpose open the Texture Library with a double click of the left mouse button on the box with a texture. We select the Fabric group from the group's tree and choose pattern No.6. Press the button Run and see the result in the After tab. If you are satisfied, press the button Apply to apply the changes and close the plugin's window

Step 5. So we changed the color of the suit, but we also want to recolor the accessories. Let's change the color of the sunglasses. Select the sunglasses using the Magnetic Lasso tool.
Then we called AKVIS Decorator again and choose a green color. Press the button Run and see the result in the After tab. If you are satisfied, press the button Apply to apply the changes and close the plugin's window.

Step 6. Do the same with her necktie. Now we choose another tint of green color for recoloring necktie.

Here is the final result. There is no limit to creativity! As you can see working with AKVIS Decorator is very easy!

Live At The BBC - Hemant Kumar - Kahan Le Chale Ho

I know this for sure. Not many knows about this legendary singer Hemanth Kumar, a Benagali and the best music director that I would vote for. He was born in June 1920, in Varanasi.

I madly in love with his melodious voice and I have compiled many of his songs.

The song titled, "Kahan le chalo" is simply haunting. This song appeared in the film, "Durgesh Nandini", released in 1956.

When I first looked at his image, I was taken aback because of his resemblance to my father-in-law. Incidentally, it is my husband who made me listen to Hemanth Kumar in 1985, the year we married.

Man, am I crazy about his voice!

Add Some Fall "Seasoning" to Your Home

Are you yearning for fall like I am? Wondering how to bring the season into your home? Here are a few ideas on flavoring your home with some autumn seasoning.

Give your guests a taste of fall by hanging a beautiful autumn wreath on your front door.

My Home Ideas
You could also display some decorative pumpkins and gourds near your front entrance to set the mood. Try white pumpkins or use gold or bronze spray to “pop" regular pumpkins.

My Home Ideas

Bring out your pillows and throws to create a feeling of warmth. Change your lampshades to darker ones.

My Home Ideas

Bring back your area rugs. Use curly willow, reeds, or other “woody” elements to bring the outside inside.

My Home Ideas

Use gourds, pumpkins, and fruit to decorate your tables and countertops. Incorporate candles in your tablescapes.  Earth tone-colored placemats, napkins and table scarves also enhance the fall look.

Touches of Fall on my Foyer Buffet Table

Decorate your mantlepiece with natural accessories such as magnolia leaves, branches, pine cones, glass jars containing acorns and light that fire. Include a basket of firewood near the hearth.

Decor Pad

Use lanterns as candleholders.  Add some decorative greens or small apples or pumpkins.

The Inspired Room Blog

Bring back your drapery and include a breakfast tray maybe with a coffee cup, saucer, cake plate and napkin. All you  will need are coffee and the warm scones with butter and jam!

Rainy Days!

Wow what a rainy gloomy day!  Although I am always a fan of a new month, I think part of it is the excitement I have for all the possibilities for the next month, but for some reason I am in a slight stage of shock on this last day of September, and I think Mother Earth may be agreeing! We have had EXTREME rain since late last night and there has been flash flooding and possibilities of tornado's!

But like they say, when God gives you lemons make lemonade I am trying to make the best of this yucky gloomy weather, I am a true believer in a line-up of classic movies and pjs on rainy days but work was calling and I trucked it in.  So instead of this being a gloomy, rainy post I thought I would throw out some fun ideas to spruce up your rain gear..believe it or not there's tons of great options!

ps. I am also in desperate need of some new rain boots, and would love to get some advice from my readers about which ones they would recommend! I love the classic Hunters, but want to make sure they are worth the splurge!  Let me know what ya'll think!

1) The classics, I think if I end up going with Hunters, I want either the original Hunter Green (seen below) or the red, because how fun would that be!

2) And you wonder why I am obsessed with Hunters, hello gorgeous celebrities rockin these boots!

 3) This can easily show, how I am slightly overwhelmed with the current selection of rain boots that are out on the market!  I will say I loved my old JCrew ones but have realized I need some that will be more durable (preferably that can handle both rain. sleet and snow..if necessary) and ones that are probably just one color, my old ones were super cute but a little over the top for my current style (no more pink and blue anchors)

So now for some other fun rain gear to cheer up all those gloomy days!

Gotta love a heart filled rain jacket, this one by Marc Jacobs, is so fun and bright, definitely cannot be gloomy if you have this jacket on!

Just had to included these fun little guys!! How adorable! They are definitely ready for whatever Mother Nature has to bring!

Now for Umbrellas! There are soo many fun, stylish and verstaile umbrellas out there these days!  See from the quick selection below, there's no need to settle on the cheapo- freebie umbrella that you got at your last business conference!  Add some style and fun to your rain day gear by adding a fun umbrella!

One of my new favorite umbrella styles is this type below!  Although its clear I love the overall protection you get from it! Definitely no wet head under this brella!

And of course one cannot complete a rainy day blog post without everyone's favorite! The classic Disney Yellow poncho!  When all else fails and your stuck at the theme park with your 20+ members of your extended family, and it starts to down pour, you can always run into the closest over-priced tourist spot and grab one!

See one can find happiness in the most gloomy days!!

Newtown, street art (Theme Day: Graffiti)

I ventured to the inner city suburb of Newtown for some attractive graffiti to feature on this theme day. This artwork appears on the side of a furniture shop on the corner of King Street and Rochford Street. Newtown is a very colourful inner city suburb where many students, bohemians, hippies and yuppies make their home. It's also a very multicultural suburb but I'm not sure why they have specifically chosen to depict Latino characters here. Anyway, my best attempt for translations of these Spanish messages across this wall are "What's Happening!", "Newtown...My Neighbourhood" and "He's Crazy!".

Un gelato, please?
