World’s Smallest Camera Developed By Awaiba

These days, it seems like every one want to make things thinner and want to make things smaller. And it actually doesn’t get much smaller than the Naneye camera. The world's tiniest camera at just 1mm wide, 1mm long, and 1.5mm tall, it's smaller than a typical match head, and it lives on a single silicon chip.

Portuguese image sensor developer Awaiba created the small camera, named the NanEye 2B, for use in the medical industry. NanEye 2B draws only 1.8 volts of electric current, and can take "clear and sharp" 250 by 250-pixel pictures. As you may have guessed, this Lilliputian digital camera won't be striking stores anytime shortly; instead, it will be put to use delving into human bodies in the name of science.

Awaiba sees the NanEye 2B being used for a range of medical purposes, including dental imaging and medical endoscopy, and it could even be used to give surgical robots a boost.

Thoughts on a Saturday Morning

After I make a run to the farmers market for local strawberries and whatever else looks good, I think I need to stop finding a zillion other things to do rather than pin basting this flimsy.

Do you see any pins in the fabric?  Neither do I...   *tsk tsk*   Bad me!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I'm glad I began blogging if for no other reason (see above) than the kind people I've met virtually...   like Cathy from Big Lake Quilter who brightened my Friday when I found a squishy in the mail when I came home from work.

Not only a lovely, personalized card... but the perfect little bag to carry my needle book and a small project to work on.

Thank you, Cathy!

Finally, there has been some discussion in these parts about why we should be so fascinated about a royal wedding across the big pond.  Well, I think that... whether we believe in fairy tales or not...  we would all like to believe in "...happily ever after."

My best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

Ultimate fashion battle!!!!

I'm going to do this one battle at a time so two stars will show off their disastrous outfits and you will decide which is worst and the one that is not the worst will continue on to the second round, and so forth.

LADY GAGA

First up we have Lady Gaga. This outfit for me puts a new meaning on visually impaired. Fashionally impaired. This is a great example of one of my many fashion rules. Black and black = BAD!!!!! If you made this dress without the buttons and it was sleeveless then it would be awesome and red. Oh yeah and one last thing....NO FACEWRAPS!!!!!!!!

KE$HA

Ok this one I actually found a bit creepy. In my mind, those pieces of fabric look like excess legs, like an ant!
Plus her eyebrows are so fake! HOW DID SHE GET HER HAIR TO STAY UP!!!!!! I know this is not Kesha but her hair is defying gravity!! I think in this case, simplicity is the key. Ooooohhh that rhymed!!
Sorry, had to much sugar. Anyways if she had left out the ant legs and dropped her hair and showed her real eyebrows and not worn grey lipstick then this would have been an awesome outfit!!!! One more thing......Basinga. And people who don't know what that is should seriously watch The Big Bang Theory!!!!

To wrap it up, these stars need your votes to continue on in the competition. Oh and next week the star that wins now, it'll be the same photo so yeah.

Fit Fridays!

GO OUTSIDE!!!

Simply taking your running routine out of the gym ups calorie burn by about 5 percent, thanks to wind and varied terrain.

And fluctuating outdoor temps further increase the number of calories you torch by about 7 percent because your body has to work to keep your thermostat dialed in to 98.6 degrees.

Not convinced? In 2007, researchers in England found that outdoor workouts are nature's Zoloft. When they compared the mental benefits of a 30-minute walk in the park with an indoor jaunt, 71 percent of the subjects who took it outside said they felt less tense afterward, while 72 percent of the indoor crew felt even more stressed.

A harder body and a brighter outlook? That's enough to make us ditch the fluorescents for the sun

Hopefully you all have some nice weather to look forward to this weekend! I am planning on going on another hike this weekend, heading out to the Shenandoah, to possibly take on Old Rag once again!

Happy Weekend!

Redfern, Strawberry Hills, Australia Post headquarters

The state headquarters of Australia Post are located in the Prince Alfred Park Building on Cleveland Street, in an inner city locality known as Strawberry Hills. This part of Strawberry Hills is actually located in the suburb of Redfern. The building replaced the old Sydney Mail Exchange, also previously known as the notorious Redfern Mail Exchange which operated from 1965-1985. The palm trees outside the office building lead you down to Prince Alfred Park opposite. Strawberry Hill was the name of a hill under Northcott Place in nearby Surry Hills, later altered to Strawberry Hills for the locality.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Become Husband And Wife

Large crowds gathered outside Westminster Abbey, where the ceremony began. A veiled Kate Middleton holding onto her father, smiled as she walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey to wed Prince William, the successor to the British throne.

Prince William told Middleton, "You look beautiful" when she reached the altar of the church. They smiled at each other and William leaned over and winked at his father-in-law, Michael Middleton.

The wedding watched by 2,000 guests in the abbey and over 2 billion people worldwide delighted the people of Britain. Crowds of at least 600,000 lined the streets to gaze at the wedding, which is a national holiday. They joyfully waved a sea of Union Jacks and wore masks of the royal couple.

The new Duchess of Cambridge wore a veil with her arms and shoulders enclosed in lace as she made her vows that turned the commoner bride into royalty.

Pippa Middleton, Kate's sister, greeted her at the door of the Abbey. She tended to Middleton's wedding dress, designed by Sarah Burton, a undergraduate of late British designer Alexander McQueen.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, the grandmother and father of groom Prince William, reached Westminster Abbey just moments before Middleton. Queen Elizabeth, wearing a bright yellow suit and hat, waved to the crowds as she and Prince Philip arrived to the site of the wedding.

A great free library online.

ReadPrint is a virtual library. You can choose from about 8000 books and read it online for free.

Sure, the database of 8000 books contain some of our all time favorite authors like
Agatha Christie and Charles Dickens. Oh, yes, my favorite author O.Henry us also listed.

Easy search function enable you to search the books by title and author too. The reading was easy for me with black fonts on a white background. In spite of the huge database, the site loads pretty fast.

Read Print is fantastic resource for students and teachers.

Pinwheels (part 2)

The pinwheels are fun to make...  if I made a couple each evening, I foresee a baby quilt happening...

...a good thing a couple of my "daughters" (former members of my Girl Scout troop) are expecting.  Just hope one of them has a girl...   *lol*

Sooooo glad it's Le Weekend!
