Things are not always rosie at our house....

Guess it is time to post our reality.

The reality is that my beautiful 6 year old daughter has not slept through the night in months... yes months and when asked to return to bed the rages begin and can last for hours in the middle of the night. My husband and I are nearing the end of our rope.

I will add that our beautiful daughter was prenatally exposed to alcohol and suffers from FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD as well as a list of other things as a result of choices made before she was even born. No they can not be fixed. And I am praying they can all be managed.

Thinking back... I am trying to think of a time when we truly had good sleep from her and it was when she was little and she was put into one of those sleep bags... she slept so well. Now it seems as though she has HUGE anxiety with her dad not being within her grasp at all times. Seriously!

I think I am going to head to a natural path to see if there is anything that can be given to her. We truly are grasping at straws right now and will try just about anything to get back to some sort of normalcy in our lives which by the way is not typical normalcy but just our sort of normal.

Just Friends?

Ok Ok... I promise that this blog will not be all about relationship advice, because first of all that would be boring and second of all I am not that knowledgeable in the subject, HOWEVER.. there is one thing that even after many good relationships (and just a few less fortunate ones) I still have an issue wrapping my head around.. JUST FRIENDS...

For me its either you truly are JUST friends, or there's the obvious attraction and if its not known mutually then it should be, right?

And you can't be just friends, when you really aren't friends in the first place. I love it when some people (as I will promise to do from here on out NEVER mention names, unless it is to give clear credit) say they are "Just Friends" but haven't hung out with that person once as friends..hanging out at a bar, or meeting them "conveniently" out multiple times doesn't mean your friends...(sorry to spoil your definition)

So getting back to my point, if you like the other person let them know, if you don't recieve the compliment back then yes your ego may be hurt, but in the long run you will be so happy that you know the truth and 4 months later your not still being "Just Friends"

And if you do honestly want to be just friends, then maybe also say that..it makes it easier on your friendship, and most likely you will actually be able to cherish that friendship much longer..

I will leave it with this.. above is completely MY two cents on the subject I in NO way am trying to force people to think like me..although I think it may help some "friendships" but I will also admit I have had problems with this exact subject so maybe its just my own therapy..

Tri-Fecta Weekend: 3 Crops in 3 Days

This is the BIGGEST weekend of Pick-Your-Own at Eckert's Belleville farm, due to the fact we are celebrating our Tri-Fecta! So why is this weekend so special and deserving of its name. There's three reasons (go figure):

1. Loring Peaches, one of our biggest peaches and a long-time customer favorite, will be available for Pick-Your-Own!


2. We are celebrating our largest blackberry crop in history, and this is the perfect weekend to pick some sweet and plump berries!
   


3. For the first time in our history, Eckert's is advertising Pick-Your-Own tomatoes! Never before have we invited our guests into the tomato field to harvest their own bounty, and we're not sure we ever will again!

The Tri-Fecta begins tomorrow, July 31st and continues through Monday, August 2nd. We couldn't have a Tri-Fecta that only lasted two days, right? One thing we can't anticipate is the crowds the Tri-Fecta will attract, so please check our Harvest Hotline the day you are planning to visit for the most current crop information.

International Sports Movie Festival Begins in Moscow

The Second International Sports Movie Festival started on Thursday in the Russian capital.

The festival is being held as part of the international sports forum, Russia is a Sports Power, and aims to endorse sports and healthy living and encourage the production of sports feature and documentary movies.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, President of Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev, Moscow assistant mayor Sergei Baidakov and Russian tennis celebrity Marat Safin attended the official opening ceremony.

“The festival…promotes the principles of sport and shows the efforts sportsmen make to reach success,” Mutko said.

“This work should not stop, even for a day, until we have completely promoted healthy living,” said Tarpischev, who is president of the festival.

Over 100 works of different genres from 22 countries in Europe, the United States and Africa, and 52 Russian regions have been submitted for the festival.
Franco Ascani, the president of the International Federation of Sports Movies and Television, will be present at the festival.

Geocaching.... on Thursday...

We went out geocaching two days in a row this week.... did I ever mention how much we really like geocaching.

For some questions I get from time to time....

What is geocaching?

We use our GPS mobile phone for our geocaching fun with the application on my LG eve android smartphone. It works like a charm for us.

Of course as in usual fashion littest brownie found the first cache of the day!

Faith & Love Printables

While the Garage is a mess and it is hard to get my crafting stuff out I have been playing around with my computer programs.  I really like scripture art and so I made two more prints.

This one is Love with the verse  John 3 1-3 behind it.

 Then Faith with 1 Corinthians 13 4-7 on it.
I made printables for you and this time I made a color variation.  

The Faith and Love are semi transparent so you can see the writing under them.

I can see the yellow and Blue in a nice Summer theme with sea shells and candles.
