I was SO shocked when at 6 weeks I started getting VERY nauseous. Then I started throwing up at 8 weeks. This horrible morning sickness thing would last all day, every day. My only relief was when I was asleep. Finally my doctor put me on Zofran, which was a slight relief. But the side affect is constipation and that was also miserable. The worst thing was waking up at 4:30am to go teach my workout class - nausea and waking up suddenly and pre-maturely do not mix well.
The only unusual thing that happened to me was that I burst a blood vessel in my eye from throwing up.
Gross, huh?! This lasted for FOUR weeks. The blood traveled up and covered the entire white part of my eye. It was really horrible attending events and speaking at public events because people would ask me really rude questions like "What's wrong with you?" and "Did your husband hit you?" A county judge even put HIS hand over MY eye while talking to me. One of my brothers (Clark) had some people over to my parents house and as he introduced me by saying "This is my sister Marietta, she doesn't normally look like this!"
While this is humorous because it was temporary, I really started to understand what a person with a visible deformity might feel like when complete strangers made comments on my appearance. Moral of the story: NEVER ask or comment on any person's appearance - stranger, acquaintance or friend.
The bloody eye went away at about 10 weeks even though the nasty nausea hung around. It stayed until 14 weeks. Today I am 15 weeks and feel pretty much like my old self. Yay!
I have been loving fruit and veggies. The only weird thing is that while I've always been a meat eater, ALL meat now grosses me out. Red meat, chicken, fish, ewwwwww! Protein bars and yogurt have become staples in my diet, I feel like I should eat more protein for the baby's development but I cannot even be in the same room with meat.
There is no bump yet, so no pictures...yet!
