Reflecting back on 2010

It is New Year's Eve so what a better time to reflect on 2010 then the present.

The beginning of the year saw my husband in school full time until June 2010. He graduated with Honours with his Home Inspection Certificate. He is trying to get his business going but it really is hard to start a business in an economic downturn.

I did home day care for the whole year... I love the children so much and I have the most amazing parents in the world. Seriously I do. I am so blessed by them. My daycare business is going so well. It has truly helped my family out more than any one can realize.

Our old child moved out this year... okay he is not a child but he still moved out into a nearby city and is doing really well. Adjusting wonderfully but as a mom I still worry about him. That never stops I am sure.

By the end of summer my husband found a temporary job as seasonal staff at a local factory... a job he can handle... so he worked there for about 2 months... and then was laid off for November/December. Working 2 months in 2 years ... you do the math!

Our oldest daughter has applied for university and this will find her moving to a very large city about 2 hours away. Not looking forward to this transition at all. Going to be hard on all of us to adjust that is for sure.

As I look back on 2010 it has been a year of learning, a year of trusting, a year of praying and meditating on God's word. It has been a year of totally trusting in Him and what he wants us to do with our lives.

It really taught me that there is far more riches in life than money and we have been able to enjoy them this year.

2010 Recap

In January I got certified as an Exercise Instructor:

We got blinds in our house and Kent & I refinished his grandmothers table for our breakfast nook:

In February Amber and I ran the "Freezing 5K" together in Fayetteville:

Kent went pheasant hunting with his Dad and brother in West Texas:

In April we went to race track with friends on Derby Day:

Kent and I laid 3 truck loads of sod in our backyard:

In May Rhett Davis was born!

I finally found a round dining room table:

I got a new job working for Senator Mark Pryor and get to do really cool things like tour turkey plants!

Kent and I added an extra flower bed (the left side of the front) and the flowers grew really quick and big since we filled the bed with manure from the horses in Hot Springs...

We celebrated 4th of July with friends in Little Rock:

My mom, Amber and I made aprons as party favors for Ali's bachlorette party:

Ali got married!

Played lots of dress up with my nieces Susannah and Anders!

Attended a lot of Razorback games!

In September I ran the Chicago Half-Marathon with my Dad and brother Spencer... I beat my Dad by 10 seconds!

KK attended her first homecoming!

In October I ran the Soaring Wings Half Marathon:

I started teaching a "Bootcamp" class at the gym:

Kent and I went to Wicked with friends in Little Rock:

Amber and I were tourists in Washington DC for a weekend in Novomber:

Kent hunted a lot:

And he fished a lot in his boat:

I got to do more fun, random stuff for my job like test drive the Lake Village fire truck:

I started out decorating for Christmas with this 14 ft fake tree:

And hated it so we got a real one:

I got to see Olya after 10 years!

We went snow skiing in Breckenridge with all the Shadrach's:

And we celebrated our 3rd anniversary on December 29!
