Of course I do not regret having purchased Zone Lab firewall.
Only it was not sufficient for my needs. But initially I did face some problem in configuring. It was tough to learn it fully.
One major advantage is you can get help anytime by accessing their members forum. And I was able to get prompt response from the company itself for all my emails.
This one area is the sole negative point with Symantec. You simply cannot access them through email. You are left all alone to solve any problem. Their online help is not all that easy to understand.
Still, Symantec has been my guardian. I thank them for that.

They declare that clinicians and support staff can now access an online version of its free and trusted mobile drug and formulary guide, used by more than 500,000 healthcare professionals.
Epocrates Online provides clinicians with access to critical information about more than 3,300 drugs, including dosing, pricing, potential drug interactions and Medicare Part D formulary coverage from any computer with an Internet connection.
Healthcare professionals can quickly and easily obtain formulary status, drug coverage and alternative and generic drug options for their patients’ health plans with Epocrates Online.
“I’ve been using Epocrates products on my PDA for years and find them indispensable to my practice. I think it is wonderful that my colleagues and staff that don’t yet use a PDA can now access the same information online to help them improve patient care,” said Jacob Wood, MD, assistant professor, UAB Selma Family Residency Program.
Epocrates products are designed by practicing physicians to deliver the most clinically useful and relevant information that healthcare professionals need at the point of care. This enables clinicians to focus on their patients rather than having to reference multiple websites or search through medical texts for information.
“The new online offering will help us grow our network beyond the healthcare professionals that currently use our PDA-based applications,” said Kirk Loevner, Epocrates chairman and chief executive officer.
Clinicians who want a more comprehensive web reference can subscribe to the Epocrates Online premium product. The premium version boasts additional content and features such as more than 400 alternative medicine monographs, patient education handouts, pill pictures, pill identifier and hundreds of medical tables and calculations.
The company has built a clinical network connecting nearly 500,000 healthcare professionals, including one in four U.S. physicians and one in two U.S. medical students, with other healthcare stakeholders.
Epocrates' products have shown a positive impact on patient safety, healthcare efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Epocrates was recently ranked 257 in the 24th annual Inc.500 ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. For more information, please visit Epocrates.

Be ware of this adware.
Pursuing my life slogan: “Pass it on; Share.” I share this news.
Please take note of this warning as per a news item in pcmag.
“MySpace users who expressed an interest in patio furniture got more than they bargained for if they clicked on an ad for DeckOutYourDeck.com earlier this month.”
“Michael La Pilla, an analyst for VeriSign iDefense, was searching MySpace on July 16 when he discovered that a patio furniture ad prompted a file called exp.wmf. If installed, up to five adware programs could have landed on the users' computers. La Pilla contacted MySpace but the company's defense team had already taken the ad down and was working to find its source.”
“Any user that was browsing with Internet Explorer and had not installed the latest Microsoft patches was vulnerable to this attack. In January, Microsoft released a patch that prevents WMF (Windows Metafile) files, so users that had installed the patch were safe. Browsers using Firefox version 1.5 or later are also protected from WMF files.”

Officials at HSBC Electronic Data Processing were not immediately available for comment.

Once, a few years ago, I too was a victim of HSBC credit card fraud. I found an unauthorized charge in my credit card statement. I immediately reported it to HSBC, who promptly credited it back to my card.
I don't know how else I can protect my PC, through which I do all my transactions online.

New RFID Threat.
Wake up netizens. Take notice of this new threat to your computers.
Read the this news story by FreeMarketNews.com
“According to a BBC News story, the latest batch of malicious hackers might target Radio Frequency ID tags to attack computer systems.
Expert security researchers have now successfully infected an RFID tag with a computer virus, thus demonstrating how vulnerable this technology might be to such hackers. They urged tag manufacturers to introduce safeguards to guard against RFID-borne bugs.
Andrew Tanenbaum, one of the researchers in the computer science department at Amsterdam's Free University that did the work, reportedly said their efforts were "intended as a wake-up call. We ask the RFID industry to design systems that are secure."

As per wikipedia.org Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is an object that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves.
The purpose of an RFID system is to enable data to be transmitted by a mobile device, called a tag, which is read by an RFID reader and processed according to the needs of a particular application. The data transmitted by the tag may provide identification or location information, or specifics about the product tagged, such as price, color, date of purchase, etc.

This blog post is sponsored by a leading seller of credit cards.
The latest web release of bizjournals.com is quite informative and pretty useful too.
It encourages you to conduct a free credit search, with no obligations whatsoever that will leave you well-informed about the various terms and conditions of usage of each individual credit card, along with its online application link.
It goes on to say that a credit card is a great way to enhance our daily lives. When used responsibly credit cards help consumers purchase goods and services, and to pay for them on an affordable budget and timeline.
At the same time, a bad credit card decision is sure to affect your specific financial or credit needs. Therefore, you should always consult your financial advisor before applying for any credit card. Along with enabling the purchase of items, it also allows a person to carry less cash.
Additionally, credit cards allow for any number of contingencies when access to savings or checking accounts is not possible.
I personally agree on the important point raised by them regarding the necessity of possessing a credit cards while traveling abroad because no matter whether you're traveling across town or across the country, it is usually easier with a credit card. Most hotels and rental car companies will not take a reservation without a credit card.

An injustice which went unnoticed.
Well, it is almost a week since the episode of Zinedine Zidane, but the world is still talking about it and will continue to do so for a long time.
I request your attention now to turn in the direction of simmons jannace & stagg, who were determined to help another sports personality.
It is Nancy Burpee, who set world records in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle at the trials held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was determined to participate in the 2004 Paralympic Games ( game for physically challenged persons). But she was disqualified by an Australian referee on a procedural technicality during the trials.
After her disqualification, Ms. Burpee telephoned Kevin P. Simmons, a partner at Simmons, Jannace & Stagg, and asked the firm to defend her case and to have the disqualification overturned.
In addition, Ms. Burpee requested that the firm commence an action against the United States Olympic Committee requiring the committee to name her to the Olympic Team.
The firm collected several testimonials from swim referees from Canada and Australia.
They agued that the Australian referee showed bias against Nancy, with an added comment indicating that the Australian referee did not want Ms. Burpee competing against an Australian paralympic swimmer.
Simmons, Jannace & Stagg also demonstrated that the United States Paralympic swim trials were not held in accordance with the paralympic rules.
But an independent arbitrator ruled against Ms. Burpee and declined to force the United States Olympic Committee to name her to the Paralympic Team.
It is time the athletes all over the world showed their united support to Nancy Burpeee by writing to the official bodies concerned and to other social service organizations.
Also the work and the spirit of the law firm represented by Simmons, Jannace & Stagg should also be commended.
