Wordy Wednesday

I feel like I am pretty good at keeping resolutions. In 2006 I decided not to eat ANY sweets or fried foods. And I did it, the entire year. Actually that was the year I lost 15 lbs (and I've kept it off!). Lesson learned in 2006: food is FUEL for your body. Sweets & fried foods do not fuel any part of your body. In fact, they have an opposite effect - they contribute to you [or me] being fat & tired!

GOALS for 2010:
  1. Wash my hair less [Gross? nah... I'll just use baby powder. Reason: It's starting to get super dry because I was washing it all the time due to all the running I was doing].
  2. Read the entire Bible this year [so I don't put the wrong verse on our 2010 Christmas card, hah! Actually, I want to spend more time with the Lord this year].
  3. Work out 5 times a week [to get THIN IN 2010!].
  4. Not eat any white bread [you might as pour a cup of sugar down your throat!].
  5. Drink 8 oz of water before every meal & anytime I want candy, cake or seconds [an extra 100 calories a day (over your alloted 2,000) equals 10 lbs a year!].
  6. To NOT cut my hair [only slight trim].
  7. To NOT make a fool of myself when I start teaching classes at my gym [yikes! I'm so nervous].
  8. Run a marathon [gasp].
  9. Buy a dining room table [We are planning on getting THIS one. What do you think?  Large, round (NOT oval) tables are so hard to find!]
Most of these are measurable goals. "Not making a fool of myself" is definitley open to interpretation. Hopefully I can hold myself to these by: a) writing them down [check]; b) revisting my goals on the first of every month; and c) post these goals on my bathroom mirror. Any other suggestions on how to be faithful in attaining these goals?

Also, I can post on Wednesday and not say that.....BIGGEST LOSER was awesome! For anyone that watched: My favorite part was when Mike Ventrella [pictured below] lost 34 lbs off his starting weight of 526 and then asked "Are my abs showing?!?!" His abs were for sure NOT showing because he still weighed 492! Hilariousness.



Happy Wednesday! We are already half way through the first week of 2010. You better get started on making it a good year!
