Let me start off my saying I do NOT like tomato soup. But this is the yummiest stuff ever! My grandparents were at Lake Tahoe years ago and were served tomato soup. The chef would not give them the recipe so they went home determined to get it just right. And they did! It is delicious. It's actually a bit more bisque-esq, which I like. Also, Kent has asked SEVERAL times if we can make this. The boy does not like soup. Hopefully that gives you a clue as to how amazing this stuff is.
Lake Tahoe Tomato Soup
Recipe:
1 large can of Campbell's tomato soup
1 small carton of half & half
1/4 cup cooking sherry (or real sherry if you have it!)
1 carton of fresh mushrooms
Directions:
- Chop up mushrooms (small if your not a mushroom fan or halves if you are a fan).
- Put all the ingredients together & set on medium heat, stir occansionally, let it come to a boil & then turn down the heat to simmer.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese
- Enjoy!
