Weekend Pictures

Valuable lesson learned this weekend: Listen to the words of a song before you play it in public. I did not think twice when I burned my cool down/stretch cd for my work out class.... I did think twice when John Mayer started saying "Who says I can't get stoned...." I never noticed that he said that in "Who Says" before... oh wait, he says it over and over.  Shame on me. I guess I will stick with Enya and the Twilight soundtrack. Other than that my FIRST class ever went great! No one stormed out, threw their hand weights at me and I didn't fall off the stage or say anything super awkward. I don't think...

On to more interesting weekend occurances....

Kent's brother Matt made his famous spagetti and meatballs [from scratch!] for everyone. He enlisted Kent's help:

The living room got re-arranged because I finally found a way I could live with the two leather chairs in the room with the EXTRA LARGE couches.

I finally found a [large enough] piece of art that I like. Can you tell what it is? 

[It is trees reflecting on a lake with a sunset.]I actually would have preferred something completely abstract, but this will do for now.

 Every time I take a picture of something on my walls it looks so small - in reality this painting is 3 1/2 feet wide and 6 feet tall.   [I'm on the hunt for a tall, skinny, narrow buffet to put under it, let me know if one exists!]

New Recipes

I am back to work today and so grateful for the 3 day weekend! I really needed it. I felt like it was the first time since Christmas that I could actually cook, clean and get some much needed things done around the house [pictures to come!].

It was a really lazy weekend, the most unusual thing I did was cook something NEW each night for dinner! I got this new cook book from my mother-in-law [who is the queen of cooking healthy] and EVERY single recipe I have tried has been amazing. I probably would not have bought it on my own because it looks like a regular "how to" book on low-carbs, but it is actually a recipe book. If you want to start eating "good carbs" then get it!

 Both of these were so delish.  The Chicken Sante Fe literally took 15 minutes total, while the Salmon Cakes took a good hour. Email me if you want either recipe [trust me, you do!].

This weekend [includes Friday night to Monday] I worked out 4 times [ah, bliss!] which included 2 weight lifting sessions, 1 yoga session, one step class and 5 miles.

Weekend Recap

On Friday night we went to Hot Springs with Kent's friends and

ate seafood at Cajun Broilers.

On Saturday night we went out to dinner with Justin and Megan at Belle Arti in Hot Springs and then spent the night at their condo. It was nice little getaway!

Weekend

Ran 6 miles yesterday. They were tough, but not painful. So that equals a successful run.

"After shot" - why do I like these?...[why do I take these?!?!]

I decided I also want to start swimming [after watching some fat guy do the Hawaii Ironman triatholon on the biggest loser.] So I started this weekend. I don't know why, but I always get semi-embarrassed when I am swimming at the gym. Not because of the fabulous kanakuk era one piece, but just because I don't really know how to swim "right." I need Megan to come give me some lessons.

On Saturday night I went to Rachel Copley's wedding reception. She looked GORGEOUS!

AND I woke up at 4:30 AM to go work out this morning. When I was leaving the gym it was STILL dark. Geee...

[Last] Weekend

My sweet grandparents were in Fayetteville last weekend to visit. It was great to see them.

Weekend

I had off Veteran's Day, so I also took off Monday for a four day weekend. It was so wonderful to not have to go to work for four days! I went to Fayetteville for a visit and down to Conway for a shower for Megan. Also, my brother Clark had to go back to the hospital, but he is better now and on much stronger medicine. The ulcer started bleeding again and is VERY painful. I did get to spend a lot of time with KK while my mom was with Clark, so even though I did not go see High School Musical 3 with her (blah), we had fun. My brother Spencer was at deer camp with Kent and shot a 7 point, he was excited about that. Kent is going back to deer camp for a long weekend tomorrow. ALI, ME, MEGAN, & AMBER

We went to Razorback game on Saturday and cheered on the Hogs, even though it did not do much good. But we had a good time none the less!

Kent went hunting all weekend (no kill yet!) and I had a billion things to paint that I had kept putting off. On thursday night we went over to the Kent's parents house because his sister, Mallery, was in town with our two neices.

My sweet friend Megan McConnell is getting married on November 29th to one of Kent's good friends, Justin Swann. I will be in Conway all weekend for two showers for Megan and I get to hang out with all my best friends! Here is picture of me, Ali and Meg. (This is their blog debut!)
