Twitter is just oneway blogging.

I don't understand the Twitter at all. Someone found my tweets interesting and useful and decides to follow my tweets.

I receive a message from Twitter regarding the new follower.

I see his profile and tweets. If his/her tweets are useful to me in any way, I follow. If not, I don't decide to follow back.

This is not liked by the new follower and he/she promptly click the 'unfollow' button.

Is this all about Twitter?

You make a comment on a blog post because you have something to say. If your comment is not published, would you stop visiting that blog in future?

You subscribe to blog because you know you will benefit. If your subscription is not reciprocated, will you unsubscribe?

Then, why it is only happening in Twitter?

So, Tweeters are all interested in showing how many people are following their tweets! I don't think it will lead to anywhere.

There are many Twitter tools that will alert you if someone 'unfollows' you so that you too retort back by stop following.

Summary:
I believe Twitter traffic is all hype. If there is no real and genuine networking, Twitter is just oneway blogging.

It seems the entire Internet is obsessed with FaceBook-the online social community. First it was MySpace, then the attention was on Orkut and now this FaceBook.

I really wonder if it is really true that FaceBook boasts of several million users! I feel, certain websites and and other review sites are alone responsible for the 'reported' popularity of FaceBook.

I am a regular reader of Mashable's blog feed. In his daily blogging effort, his blogging topics cover FaceBook by nearly 60%. Even he won't have time to spend on FaceBook going by the number of in depth blog posts he writes everyday.

At the beginning, everybody registers at any new social networking website but soon wither off having been satiated. To me, it is all a waste of time. I am sure many will disagree with me, but....

Ho, ho.. here is one more website where Indian youth can interact and probably waste their valuable time.

Om2U says it is a cool young Indian community. I see it a chance to meet Indians all over the world.

The promoters say that this web site is created to enhance Internet Entrepreneurship. Yes, one can happily chat, discuss new business, share whats on their mind and all the friils of social networking are not missing here too.

Members can create a blog and post their interests. Pictures of favorites can be uploaded for others to enjoy.

We choose to buy books on recommendations and reviews. We read reviews on line and still ask around if anyone has read that particular book and if so, what is their feedback.

For me, I have earned quite a lot of friends because of books only and we all still keep in touch, share books and save money, offer tips and reviews and we even meet occasionally.

This is the first thing I wanted but finding it at last.

Fropper.com is a dating, friendship and social networking website for Indians.

With this, I have counted seven social networking sites for Indians. Surprisingly, I have so far not registered in any one of them.

Mostly there will be talk in Hindi which I don't understand much and the talk will be centered around Ishwarya Rai of course. Don't they ever get tired of following her?

Since it is also a dating site, I noticed several invitations from boys to girls seeking friendship. They easily forget that they are in India and it is Indian girls they are inviting.

Either that or about cell phones and SMS. Nothing interesting for me there except a few odd stories about education and career.

Campus hangover in cyberspace.

The Indian colleges campus enters cyberspace. The most welcome change for students of India is the launching of a social networking website exclusively for students of India.

The person behind this is none other than Kavita Iyer, an ex-yahoo employee. She has teamed up with Sanjay Aggarwal and Sushma Abburi and all the three are alumni of IIT, New Delhi.

Aptly named Mingle Box, it has already captured the attention big media and several have reported about this mega website and I came to know that advertisers are clamoring for the best ad spots on this website.

The Web 2.0 and wiki are a great combination where you and I can create content, share audio, video and what not with just a few clicks. Social networking is the life of the day without which, the entire population of internet will go crazy it seems.

I saw students of several colleges and Universities have already started their online communities in Mingle Box.

This is going to be very huge folks, so huge that it may soon overshadow even 'Facebook and HI5'. My grandson, who is now spending most of his vacation on Mingle Box is studying in one of the famous colleges in Madras.
