Harbajan cried! Yuvaraj choked!

I could sense some tear drops that lingered on my eyes. They did not roll down on my cheeks. I let it like that till the tears dried out. My eyes felt fresh.

This happened immediately after Dhoni hit the winning shot to claim the Cricket worldcup. The way Yuvaraj hugged his captain and did not release the pressure for a full one minute conveyed so many emotions that the entire nation felt simultaneously.

Even as I am composing this blog post, I relive the same emotion shamelessly though I think it is indecent to feel so happy when the other nation SriLanka is feeling the pain of having lost the game to India.

Then, there was a fierce hug of Gary Kirsten by Yuvaraj (see image) that conveyed the India's pride and gratitude to the coach.

I appreciated immensely Virat Kholi's frank reply to a question on why he carried Tendulkar on his shoulders.

Harbajan cried! Yuvaraj choked when Ravi Sastri interviewed him. Tendulkar had tough time in curtailing his tears.

Thank you Indian cricket team for giving so much to us that we all will carry to our grave.

Ricky Ponting backs India.

What a win against the Aussies! The lingering good feeling is very sweet and I would say the pleasure was a little bit of sadistic when I saw the big disappointment on Ricky's face. I feel like pumping my fist like the bowlers do when they take a wicket.

You know what? Ricky Ponting backs India to beat Pakistan in the semi final.
I did not expect Ponting to say this frankly. Do I read between the lines?

Who will the play the finals in World Cup Cricket?

Oh, enough of criticisms and blaming fingers. We lost that easy-to-win cricket match to South Africa and it cannot be played back. Let us hope the Indian team desires to win not just desire to play in front of the world.

Going by the performances of individuals so far, I don't foresee our team to advance up to the final. I wish we defeat the West Indies in Madras on 20th March but that is only possible when Nehra is not picked up.

Suresh Raina should come in place of Yusuf Pathan who had been given a handful of opportunities. Suresh is more consistent than Yusuf and surely he can also bowl with better strike rate.

The world cup cricket matches played so far indicates Australia and Pakistan will clash in the finals.

I visualized Yuvaraj's contribution.

I mentally composed a blog post on Saturday thanking Yuvaraj Singh for defeating Ireland in the World Cup cricket match. My visualization became true today (Sunday). He first grabbed five wickets and then made 50 runs that made the victory possible for India.

Thank you Yuvaraj. It was a satisfying win for us though I would have liked to see you score at least one of your trademark six over midwicket fence.

I hope Dhoni would have had enough of Piyush Chawla at last. Bring in Aswin, captain and see how you win much more easily. He is good and deserves a long stint.

Oh yes, I almost forgot Yusuf Pathan. What a knock that relaxed the dressing room as well as the viewers!

I just watched for a few minutes the cricket match between West Indies ans South Africa. I was shocked to see John Botha opening the bowling for SA and the ploy worked!

Chris Gayle was out immediately!

John Botha is a pretty ordinary spin bowler in the world. I wonder why even batsmen like Gayle, Sachin, Yuvaraj struggle against him. On another day, Yuvaraj would have hit Botha out of the ground with ease. But, this is not another day.

Indians I feel made a bowler out of Botha. Certainly he is not all that threatening. South Africa has employed three spinners for this match against the Windies!

I wish they beat the Proteas. Right now Darren Bravo is hitting 4s and 6s off Imran Tahir. I am happy!

Indian thumped Australia.

What a cricket match! I was immensely pleased to watch India beat Australia in the warm up at Bangalore. I stayed up until the presentation ceremony. Dhoni was all smiles, which is a rare sight. He usually doesn’t show his emotions publicly. I saw him grabbing a stump as a souvenir and it was only a warm up cricket match!

Piyush Chawla weaved a dream of spinning web and the (once) mighty Aussies could not read his leg spinners and googlies. The Bangaloreans cheered lustily for the Indian team.

I let myself loose and joined the cheer without any inhibition. I thought I would have no patience to sit more than 8 hours but the Indian bowlers pushed me to my seat.

I am glad I went to Bangalore for the weekend. My son was very happy to see me relaxing with the crowd.
