Dating back to some of my first Fit Fridays of this year I urged you all to set goals, and one of the most fun ways to set goals while getting fit is to sign up for races, whether its specifically running, or maybe you are considering a sprint triathlon its a great way to set a date and a goal and to accomplish it! (if your like me, sometimes even the most sought after goals can be torn down due to unusual and unfortunate circumstances.. my injury that caused me to ruin my 3 months of marathon training last fall..) But with all that behind me I am looking forward to my first race of 2011!
This Sunday marks the Annual Cherry Blossom 10 miler, it is quite the famous race here in DC and one that many look forward to. This will be my first experience in this race and I am looking forward to it!
Although in the last days I have been having some unusual pains when stretching I am staying positive and looking forward to a FUN race alongside one of my very closest friends here in DC!
Hope you all have made some future plans for a few races this year! Even if its just a walking 5K, it will show you how much you can accomplish, and it gives you even more reasons to continue those EARLY morning workouts! (so happy everyone learned about my secret morning workout success from last week!)
