Juicy Peaches + Sweet Price = Back to School Fun

Can you believe it's already that time of the year again? All the kids are heading back to school and fall is closing in. On the farm, "back to school" also translates to "the last of peach season." Although we always hate to see peach season come to an end, our dismay is somewhat alleviated since the last of our peaches are the Crest Havens, our juiciest, largest, prize-winning peaches! To celebrate the end of a fantastic peach season and the beginning of a new school year, we are proud to be offering the "Sale of the Season!" Pick-Your-Own peaches and loose peaches for sale in the store are now only $.99/lb from now until the end of peach season! We invite you to join us this weekend for one last day of fun in the sun - enjoying juicy peaches at a sweet price!

I have kids of my own, so I know just how crazy things are around the house trying to get the kids back on schedule and making sure everything is ready for when the first day of school arrives. Here is one of my favorite peach recipes to make with my kiddos. It's a great recipe to end the season with and gives them a little taste of the summer that first day in the cafeteria!

Lunchbox Peach Crisps
Ingredients
10 medium peaches, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup flour

Crumb Topping
2 1/2 cups flour
1 2/3 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/4 cup oats
1 1/4 cup chilled butter, cut into pieces

Combine ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. Divide peach mixture evenly between greased 4" pie pans or ramekins.

For crumb topping: Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blending tool until crumbly. Divide topping evenly between dishes. Place dishes on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until evenly browned.

I also happened upon a fellow blogger that had a great recipe for popsicles, made with fresh fruit from yours truly. The Mommy & Me, Naturally blog, is a great read for moms and dads alike!
