I went with the above option for the wreath.
We live in a little golf-course subdivision and I've finally figured out the times that the golfers are NOT golfing, so I can run on the golf course. It's so peaceful.
I will leave you with this "interesting" story from growing up as a Shadach:
Most people get up on Easter and go hunt for Easter eggs or get an Easter basket with candy. Not the Shadrachs. Actually, I did not know who Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny was until I went to Kindergarten. That's a entirely different story...
Every Easter morning my parents would wake us up at 5 am-ish and take us to Laurel Park (in Conway, behind Stoby's) to reenact the Resurrection of Jesus. I was always Mary Magdalene so that I could run and tell all the disciples that the tomb was empty and be the center of attention. My brothers would always argue over who got to be Jesus, because all you had to do to be Jesus was just lay there and then disappear. Here's the usual lineup:
Me: Mary Magdalene
Mom: Mary, the Mother of Jesus
Dad: the Narrator [so we would know what to do]
Spencer: Jesus
Trey: Roman Centurion that fell asleep
Clark: the Angel that rolled away the stone & told the women "Don't be alarmed"... "He has risen!"
Then we would go get donuts and go to church.
If there is more hands-on, creative way to celebrate Easter than this, I would really like to know. Because I don't think one exists.
