Bad News:
Sent my check and taxes along to the IRS since they are due today. And then opened the mail only to receive the notice that the IRS REJECTED our new homeowners tax credit claim. So now we have to appeal their rejection.
I wish I could send the IRS a notice saying that I REJECT their claim on my money. I'm taxed when I get a paycheck by the state AND federal government. Then I'm taxed when I buy ANYTHING. Then I'm taxed on what I own (personal property). And then at the end of the year they want more money from me just cause! But to get money from the government is literally like pulling teeth. We sent in our claim September 1, 2009 and now it is EIGHT months later and we still don't have our little $8,500.
Good News:
Today is my last Thursday EVER at the Capitol because I got a NEW JOB! Don't you love those two words together?!?!
I'm going to be working for Senator Pryor's office here in Little Rock as the Field Representative covering the 3rd Congressional District, which is northwest Arkasnsas. I'm super excited about this new opportunity. I will get to travel frequently up to NWA and get to interact with people! woo hoo! I start on the 26th.
I got this lovely new nightstand:
I love the turquoise with the pink. LOVE IT.
Kent says it's really [too] girly. duh. That's why I like it! And that's why it is on MY side of the bed! haha.
Kent is at the car auction today buying himself a new car/truck. Or maybe me a new car. Or maybe one for us both. This makes me a little nervous because he can be really impulssive. He has already this morning called me to ask what I think about a Nissan Armada, a Lexus SUV, a Ford Expedition, an Avalanche.... the list goes on! If you've never been to a car auction you MUST go. It will make you want to run home and open a used car lot on your front lawn. Seriously.
And my Mom stayed with me last night and brought me this cute Vera Bradley Mini Hipster in "Call Me Coral" that she had bought me. It's the perfect size for fun day trips. My big leather Tano just gets to heavy if I'm going to be out shopping for any longer than an hour.
