Google Sidewiki acts as website reviewer.

When you are viewing a website either with a purpose or accidentally, when you are impressed with its content and are contemplating to buy anything from that website, you might feel like looking at some feedback or comments that may help you decide-right?

Google has come forward to help you. It has introduced an useful tool called "Sidewiki", a side toolbar that will resolve your wish.

I am using it since yesterday and I cannot stay away from it all. It is excellent and extremely useful.

What is a gravatar?

I don't understand the purpose using avatar in the web. Somehow I don't get the hang of it. Mostly due to compulsion only, I upload some image (sometimes my picture) that I quickly get tired of looking at it and change it.

Recently I have been coming across the word, 'gravatar' which is an image we select to represent us. Any image goes along as long as it is not a copy righted material.
I quote:
"A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites."

I think the forums only started this practice which is now being followed by blogs and all the social media.

Are you using Google Reader?

I am a heavy user of Google reader. I have hundreds of subscription on equal number of topics. At times, I even skip my local daily and my breakfast too when I open my Google Reader.

The entire browsing takes a minimum of at least two hours. Once I wished there is some way that I get notified whenever my RSS feeds get updated.

Here is a tool hat has resolved my wish. It is a FireFox extension that you can easily install. This extension places its' icon on Firefox status bar and notifies you if there are updates available on Google Reader.

But remember, you must always keep logged into your Google account for this extension to work.

Photo editing made easy.

It is of course easy for others to edit photos across any sites but not for me. I am afraid to learn even. Anything to do with art, photo-I am off. On second thoughts, I think I will give it a try. Foto Flexer claims to have made my job easy. It is supposed to be the the words easiest online photo editing tool and also advanced.

But I really can't say how advanced it is because I don't know what is the basic photo editor.

Back up with GMail drive.

I read a blog post just in time and it saved me Rs.2000.

I was about to buy a flash drive to back my important files and folders when I found out GMail drive which can be useful as a free online disk.

Silki's Web Tools is a blog that I read frequently. Yes, I admit, I have not visited her blog in the recent past.

Only I am the loser because I might have missed a lot of important information. Had I not visited today, I might not have known about the GMail drive and as I said, I would have unnecessarily Rs.2000.
