KF Sandwich

The backing is sewn together and the quilt sandwich is made.  A lot of smoothing needs to go on but I'll work on that each time I walk by.  There was a bit of natural light available so I thought I'd take another couple of photos...

I won another give-away!  Am I lucky or am I lucky!

Amy of Interlocking Squares is spring cleaning and decluttering and offered four Schnibbles quilt patterns by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co....  and I won the "Imagine" pattern!

The pattern is charm pack-friendly and finishes at 37"x37"...  I'm already thinking about fabrics and colors!

I'm on the email list for an online quilt fabric emporium and I received notification of a fabric line that will be released in September 2011....

"Terrain" by Kate Spain for Moda Fabrics

I love... with a capital "L"... Love the colors!!!  However, the yardage will be $10.75...  and the jelly roll will be $39.00...
*sigh*

First Day Back

Spring break is wonderful but it is oh so hard to pop out of bed and head back to work after it's over.  Was a good day overall, everything went smoothly... but I'm pooped and decided to hold the sofa down (it gets rowdy at times) and watch another installment of Monarchy.

Interesting series so far... the first four episodes covered from the Dark Ages up through Henry II.

I did receive a nice squishy in the mail...  50 Kaffe Fassett charm squares for the HST quilt I started.

In celebration of her 200th blog post, Stray Stitches is having a give-away for a $25 gift certificate to The Fat Quarter Shop!

I don't know about you... but I would have so much fun with that gift certificate....

How Many Projects?

Despite two little girls underfoot for most of yesterday, I did manage to get a little sewing in.... made 116 HST blocks using Kaffe Fassett charm squares and 5" squares of Kona "Ash"...

I know, I know... no new projects til you finish the two you're working on now!  But I couldn't help myself...  *lol*

A Light Bulb Moment

It doesn’t happen all the time but every once in a while I see something online and think: AH HA!  …and I can almost see the light bulb going on.

This happened yesterday when I was reading a blog called In Color Order and I came across a photo of a quilt made with repurposed vintage sheets…

…and I knew I had found the perfect pattern for the Kaffe Fassett prints I got at the Knoxville Quilt Show last summer!

So… did a Google search and found the pattern:

…ordered it!  I am so excited!

Many thanks to Jeni B. at In Color Order for the inspiration!  Don't you just LOVE the internet?
