New Urn

Yesterday at lunch I took a wrong turn and found a really fun store in the Hillcrest area. There was children's clothing, bedding and flea market items....wierd! I found two great urns, one was $50 and the other was $9. They looked the same to me.... until I turned the $9 one around, it was missing a piece. Useless? No way, treasure! I am going to put it on my mantle where no one will know it is lacking a back. I am unsure what to do with it... I would love your comments!

Should I leave it alone? (The picture looks grainy, but actually the urn is grainy and naturally distressed = perfection!)

Old Chair Made New #2

I LOVE this girly, colonial, shabby-chic fabric and I knew that I could find a good place for it. I did of course, on another flea-market reject chair. This one was REALLY ugly (again, I forgot to take a before picture, I WILL get better at that). The chair used to be painted blue and then red before that, so these two colors showed up when I started sanding the white off around the edges and on the decorative flower at the top. The combo of the white chair with red and blue undertones goes very well with this fabric.

Old Chair Made New #1

I found an old chair at a flea market (I forgot to take before pics) and painted it... black of course! It took a while to find the right fabric for this chair, but I finally did. It is actually a burlap fabric with black velvet swirls on it - how fabulous! The pictures really don't do the chair justice. Anyhow, just wanted to show my weekend project!

I put the extra fabric on an old bench I bought at a garage sale for $2. I painted it and did not distress the wood. I actually like the fabric a little bit more with this bench than the distressed chair. What do you think?

P.S. The bench is for sale in my booth, which is why the pumpkins are on it!
