Who can tolerate the banal syllabus of high school mathematics? Even Einstein would have admired our present day school students for their endurance power.

I have always wished to find something interesting and new to teach my math students. That should be something that is not included in their curriculum but still, the subject should stimulate their overall math solving ability.

Today, I came across an e-book that has several interesting topics not covered in the standard high school curriculum of most countries. It is for 14 to 18 year olds who are interested in mathematics in general.

Yesterday, I was the heroine in a math club because I have introduced to the hundreds of students and teachers who were present a new hero that can’t act in films.

It was the course hero who was the center of attraction. I informed all of them about my latest find called coursehero.com, an online database of hundreds of free quality study materials for college students in almost all the subjects that include Biology, mathematics, and economics and so on.

I patted myself for having thoughts of browsing through some of the Biology Homework Solutions even though my subject is mathematics. Since I have studied a little bit of biology and in fact enjoyed my time at Biology Lab, I was able to comprehend several notes in coursehero.com and realized they are valuable and of top quality.

I must start compiling a lot of resources now for the benefit of my students who will be completing their school in March 2009. I used to conduct a "seminar on higher education in the U.S." during the month of January every year.

I have already compiled a database of top universities and colleges in America. But I too have to up date my database-right?

I found a website called Unigo where all the top educational institutions in the U.S. are reviewed. It’s seems to be a great place for high school leaving students to find out what life is really like at America’s colleges, and to make friends who can help them find the school that’s right for them.

I read in Springwise that Unigo offers tens of thousands of original reviews, videos, photos, documents and more about 225 of America's top colleges. They have a team of 18 full-time editors, 300 on-campus interns and more than 15,000 students, the results are all searchable within an interactive community built around student-generated content.

More engineering colleges means...

My husband's friend, a bank manager looked crest fallen when I visited his house yesterday. The reason for his dull mood was his daughter is yet to gain admission in an engineering college.

She has not secured good marks and thus she can't hope to get into any of the reputed institutions. All she can hope for is opt for a faculty that is not in high demand. Even the news that there will be more seats to grab with the addition of more than 50 engineering colleges this year in our state, did not cheer her up.

More engineering colleges means more shortage of quality academic staff. This genuine concern prevails in several campuses among students and parents.

Though the Government is yet to address this vexing issue, students pin their hopes and their parents sell their assets to meet the educational expenses.
