.:. PFW | Elie Saab Spring 2012 .:.

Elie Saab presented his Spring 2012 collection with shocking colors. That collection scored him big at the Emmy Awards a few weeks ago, where Kate Winslet wore his clean-lined but clingy scarlet gown. It stands to reason that many of these HD-ready, eye-catching dresses—in particular, an emerald plunge-neck style with snaking trails of sequins and the plummy chiffon number with tiny lace cap sleeves—will meet a similar Ryan Seacrest-discussed fate.
Saabs collection are always ready-to-wear clothes, the fact that makes his clients to wear them in various events and locations. I love the languid and floaty seventies-ish silhouettes with tie necks or sexy asymmetrical necklines and up-to-there slits gowns. -DCL

.:. MFW | Moschino Spring 2012 RTW .:.

//: The label's founder, Franco Moschino, designed a matador outfit that he called Bull Chic. This time around, Jardini gave her embroidered jackets the house's familiar tongue-in-cheek spin with tiny bells that jingled as the models walked down the runway. (A leather Perfecto appliquéd with the slogan "Make Up, Not War" also nodded toward Franco's signature irreverence.) While those jackets and the suede dresses with deep fringe may prove too costume-y for all but the most diehard Moschino fans, other pieces trod more lightly on Jardini's chosen themes.
Sunshine yellow, one of the season's key hues, provided the show's bright pop of color. Jardini used it for a smocked top paired with a long, flower-strewn peasant skirt. A swirling heart pattern on a trio of dresses likewise accentuated the optimistic streak that made this latest Moschino outing as winning as it was.
