JL QAL Group Photo

...of the blocks I've completed, not our QAL group!

Thirty-one blocks completed, 17 more to go!

Is that right?  6 x 8 = 48 - 31 = 17...  yes, I think that's right!

A blog friend posted this video and I did indeed *LOL*... wanted to share and brighten your day!

Jacob's Ladder Block #8

I love purple anything and picked the purple mini flower print for the eighth JL block.

I think it's about time for a group shot, yes?

Jacob's Ladder Block #7

There are four mini prints that came with these floral FQs and I liked how the first turned out.... so I decided to make another mini floral for block #7.

This print is a dark blue-green flower and makes me think of moss peeking up thru a flagstone path.

Without further ado, the winner of the 30K Views Give-away is...

Congratulations, Marianne!  I've emailed you for your shipping info!

Another Jacob's Ladder QAL Block

I used another print with a light background for my sixth block...

I do like how the flowers peek out through the openings.... and no *oopsies* this time....  I think...

Don't know if I'll ever get done with this JL quilt at this rate...   and I ask myself why I'm worrying about it!

Oh Dear!

Despite being careful and despite taking a photo and posting said photo.... it took an eagle-eyed friend to spot something funky in one of my JL blocks...

...so guess what I unsewed and resewed yesterday afternoon?

Thanks for the catch, Ellen!

JL QAL Progress

Now that Cowabunga Florabunda is no longer available to work on, I did a couple of Jacob's Ladder blocks...

I didn't think I'd like the fabric with a lot of white space in a JL block... but I do.... interesting...

JL QAL Block #3

After dropping off Cowabunga Florabunda off to be quilted, I pulled the 3rd FQ to make a JL block.

Here are the current assortment of blocks... and yes, two are not oriented correctly.

I wish I could take better photos.

Jacob's Ladder Progress

I like this "make two blocks per week" stuff.... I tend to obsess about "get her done!" and sew for hours.

I selected a mini-print for the 2nd fabric and liked how the block turned out...

...and I like how the blue mini-print plays with the floral print from last week!

For the sake of comparison, here's a JL block on top of a Cowabunga Florabunda block...

The JL blocks are so tiny in comparison to the CF blocks!

Pulling Fabrics from Stash

It's been hectic and fun around here with all the kids running around and two dogs playing under foot... and grown ups visiting and otherwise catching up...

The most fun has been over-hearing the kids at the kitchen table at dinner telling each other jokes.  So incredibly funny.  Clearly, humor is "leveled" like readers and library books... the two 2nd graders certainly enjoyed each other jokes while the other three looked on puzzled.

I won't tell you the joke about unicorns and cupcakes...  but was the big hit of the evening, let me tell you!

I did have a few spare moments and pulled FQs for potential use in the Jacob's Ladder QAL...  not sure when I got these and certainly can't remember for what project I bought them.

I found a length of Moda Bella Solid in "Paper Bag".... and I like how it looks with the FQs...  the "Paper Bag" would be for the ladder...

Seven FQs certainly isn't enough so I went thru the FQs again and found three that coordinate with the florals...

Did some math... and I'm still short on the florals so there will be another FQ search.  I'm determined not to purchase any florals!

The only sewing I've done this weekend was to sew badges on a Boy Scout sash...  if I'm going to finish Cowabunga Florabunda before the end of the month, I need to get moving!

Civil War Block 36: Kentucky Crossroads

A simple, fast block for a change...

...the hardest part was choosing fabrics!

I've Been Thinking... Uh oh!!!

...and doing some online searches.  And my Quilter's ADHD has struck again!  You just cannot let me near a computer these days... too much fun!

Why, you ask?  Because I found some Jacob's Ladder quilts I like!

Several quilters have expressed an interest in a QAL so I decided to make a button for us...
...well the button is made, now just need to link it up!  Look for a linked button on the side-bar coming soon.  QAL "grab a button" is now available on the right side-bar!
I've set up a Flickr page so we can keep all the photos of our adventures in Jacob's Ladder QAL-ing!   If you already have a Flickr acct, feel free to join.  If you don't have a Flickr account, it's easy to set up... if you need assistance please let me know.
Anything else?  I'm new to organizing this stuff, don't you know!

P.S.   Both my kids and their families will be here visiting this weekend so... if I'm not around much, you'll know I'm on the floor playing with grandchildren or chatting with their parents!
