what a weekend...

Wow what a weekend!  Never in my wildest dreams would i ever thought I would see a city in such chaos...

Thankfully I have an amazing mom, who came into town that honestly was up for anything and everything.. I won't go into every detail but I will try to use some of these images to show you exactly what went on this weekend!

Never have I ever seen the metro so packed, foolishly, I thought my mom and I could take the metro through downtown DC on Saturday morning.. thanks to a certain rally that was going on.. one can see pictures below, the metro was a complete joke...

Had to get this last photo from another website, due to the awesome outfits that both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert were displaying!

After experiencing the above, we decided to return back to my very nice and quiet apartment in Virginia and watch the amazing Gator victory from my couch, rather than compete with the crowds at the usual bar.

Overtime Victory, I'll take it!

Now onto Sunday, as many of you know due to unfortunate last minute injuries, I was unable to run my first marathon, although I was very disappointed I knew that if I wanted to continue a career in running that I must take care of my body so I can compete in the future!  Good news is that I have already decided on three different races fro 2011!  Keep reading and I will let you know all about each race at a later time!

Anyways although I was very sad that I wasn't able to compete myself I did still have several friends and fellow runners that I knew participating in the race.  We left our place early Sunday to get out to the race, it was a chilly morning for the sideline viewers, but absolutely perfect for all the runners.

Over 30,000 runners competed this year!

So proud of all the runners, you have continued to inspire me that this goal of mine will be reached!!

Congratulations!

After a few hours of cheering, screaming and handing out Jelly Energy Beans, mom and I walked up to the beautiful Eastern Market, we enjoyed the fresh produce and the ever so eclectic flee market!  After enjoying the gorgeous we stopped for Brunch at Cava, not originally going to there but after finding that Matchbox had quite some wait we decided to try it out... To those who have never been for brunch and enjoy Benedict's, it was amazing!

Ended the afternoon, with one of these!

What a memorable weekend, but so happy I got to experience it all with one of my favorite out of town guests!
