happy APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!! ahh! March really flew by.
I attempted to make a five-layer rainbow cake. I'm practicing for a party I'm having....
First I dyed all the white cake batter different colors. I tried realllll hard to make hot-pink, but it turned out ROSE colored. Has anyone made hot pink before? I think you have to make orange and then add a splash of red? [I did NOT do this, thus the rose color]
Since I had some muted colors, instead of neon-like colors, I went for an Easter themed cake. It worked out okay.
Then I frosted it with cream cheese icing...
[yes, I know it's leaning]
And then we ate it!
Next time I will:
1. make hot-pink
2. make lime green
3. make the bottom layer thicker because the weight of the cake smushes it down. see how thin it looks?
4. take some home with me :)
This is really fun if you are having people over because everyone thinks it is just a plain white cake... until you cut the first piece! I made dinner for my family and everyone was very impressed with my superior baking skills. It takes a lot of talent to get the cake to lean like that! hah!
